LIABILITY:

Destinos de Viajes Costa Rica, (owners, associates, agents, representatives and employees) give notice that they assume no responsibility for injury, loss or damage to person or property in connection with any service resulting directly or indirectly from acts of God, detention, annoyance, delays and expenses arising from quarantine, strikes, thefts, pilferage, major force , failure of any means of conveyance to arrive or depart as scheduled, civil disturbances, government restrictions or regulations, discrepancies or change in transit or hotel service over which it has no control.

Destinos de Viajes Costa Rica give notice that they act only as agents for accommodations, day tours reservations, regular or private transfers, domestic airlines, bus corporations, owners or contractors providing services of restaurant and tours at hotels, or other services for each, and assume no responsibility nor liability in connection with their services provided to the passengers.

Destinos de Viajes Costa Rica is not responsible for loss of life, personal injury, cancellations, delays, over-bookings, loss or damage of baggage and/or loss of services as a result of the same, caused by any domestic flights within Costa Rica.

Destinos de Viajes Costa Rica is fully covered by insurances from Instituto Nacional de Seguros (National Insurance Institute). In case of any eventuality, our suppliers will apply the insurances, payments and cancellations policies previously established.

Some trip packages or itineraries will require domestic flights, car rentals, bus or van transportation that will be arranged through Destinos de Viajes Costa Rica by contracting the services from third parties. In the event that customers decide to book a trip package or itinerary that requires any domestic flight, hotel accommodations, car rentals, transportation service or tours within Costa Rica, Destinos de Viajes Costa Rica will not assume responsibility for cancellations, delays, over bookings, or any loss of services from any of the parties involved in the operation.

Destinos de Viajes Costa Rica reserves the right to adjust the U.S. dollar prices without notice, to reflect fluctuations in the Foreign Exchange Markets.

With advance purchase or pre-payment to Destinos de Viajes Costa Rica or any of its agents, the depositor therefore agrees to be bound by the terms and conditions on this page.

CUSTOMER LIABILITY (YOUR RESPONSIBILITY)

It is the customer's responsibility to make all of their connections and check in times on time. Destinos de Viajes Costa Rica assumes NO RESPONSIBILITY for a customer arriving late or being a 'NO SHOW' due to any problem of personal nature or with the services provided by any of our vendors. The customer is also obliged to have the proper travel documents. If you are from any country outside of Costa Rica we strongly recommend that you check with your immigration department or the closest Costa Rica consulate in your area to see if any other documentation is needed before you book a trip package or have Destinos de Viajes Costa Rica make reservations on your behalf.

* Accommodation Responsibility
You are bound to respect the terms and conditions that relate to any accommodation business. Destinos de Viajes Costa Rica will not be held responsible for early departures nor will Destinos de Viajes Costa Rica refund money to any client due to personal problems with hotel staff or policies inside the facilities of a hotel. Check in and checkout times should be taken into consideration since we will not be responsible in case of a failure to observe either of them due to the customers' fault.

* Tour Responsibility
You will be under the terms and conditions from each one of our tour operators, but in general, you need to maintain the safety and well-being of the whole group during a tour. Destinos de Viajes Costa Rica will not be held responsible for a cancellation or exclusion in a tour due to rude or dangerous behaviors from customers.

* Car Rental Responsibility
Destinos de Viajes Costa Rica is acting as third party agent. Destinos de Viajes Costa Rica will not cover or collect any insurance money from the client. The basic insurance of your vehicle and any additional insurance will be the responsibility of the client and will be purchased by the client from the actual car rental company when the car rental contracts are signed between client and the actual car rental company. Damages to the vehicle, third party vehicles or any other damage caused by human mistake of the driver will be settled by the client and the car rental company from where the car rental contracts were signed. Destinos de Viajes Costa Rica will not be held responsible for events caused by these situations.

* Domestic Flight Responsibility
Due to limited space on all domestic aircraft it is mandatory that each passenger carry a maximum of 2 bags per person that DO NOT exceeds 30 pounds in combined weight (This is watched closely). We recommend that you leave any excess luggage in the hotel's storage room for when you return or make the proper arrangements for transport if need be. You must be at all domestic airports at least 45 minutes before the local flight departs, to check in. Destinos de Viajes Costa Rica will not be held responsible for delays or missing any flights due to a third party or any customer's problem. All expenses from that point on will be covered by the customer or the third party involved. Domestic flights can be canceled or delayed by weather conditions therefore Destinos de Viajes Costa Rica will not be held responsible for any hotel reservations, International flights, connections or any other services missed because of these delays or cancellations by the domestic airlines.

* Shared Shuttle Responsibility
You are bound to show up 30 minutes prior to time for shuttle bus transfers and due to space limitations on the shuttle bus you are required to carry a maximum of 2 bags per customer. We recommend that you leave any excess luggage in your hotel's storage room for when you come back or make the proper arrangements for transport if needed. Destinos de Viajes Costa Rica will not be held responsible for delays or missing any shuttle bus due to a third party or any customer's problem. All expenses from that point on will be covered by the customer or the third party involved.

* Medical, Health & Insurance
Customers with existing medical conditions should make them known to Destinos de Viajes Costa Rica at the time of booking any trip package or itinerary before their arrival in Costa Rica, given that clients may be, at some time during their trip, in some of the most remote places in Costa Rica. Under certain circumstances, evacuation could be prolonged, difficult, expensive or virtually impossible. Clients should take special care for any such conditions prior to coming to Costa Rica. Hospital facilities and clinics can be found throughout Costa Rica and their medical services are excellent, however, Destinos de Viajes Costa Rica assumes no liability for any such medical service or any costs related to any evacuation or provision of medical care if needed. Destinos de Viajes Costa Rica strongly recommends that all clients purchase short-term traveler's insurance covering baggage, accident, life and or trip cancellations prior to coming to Costa Rica.

PRIVACY STATEMENT

Destinos de Viajes Costa Rica will not disclose any of your Personal Information to third parties. All information we receive from you will be used only to confirm your vacation package or itinerary and at times to let you know about our services. All credit card information received from our clients is sent by the customer through a secure socket layer credit card form that is encrypted to ensure maximum security for our customers. We do not sell your data to third parties. We also instruct our staff as per our Internal Labor Code to be discrete and do not reveal any personal information to anyone except the person whose name the reservation is under.

RESERVATION REQUIREMENTS, CHARGES AND CANCELLATIONS

Low and High Seasons Reservations - 50% deposit will be charged at booking time and the balance will be charged 31 days prior to arrival. Please make note that there may be exceptions to this policy based on some suppliers who have different payment requirements.

Peak Season Reservations - 50% deposit will be charged at booking time and the balance will be charged 61 days prior to arrival. Please make note that there may be exceptions to this policy based on some suppliers who have different payment requirements.

Destinos de Viajes Costa Rica reserves the right to cancel any trip package, itinerary or any part of a client's itinerary due to insufficient sign-ups, over bookings or anything else resulting directly or indirectly from the situations stated in the section called Our Responsibility. In the event of such a cancellation, any client with pre-paid reservations or guaranteed confirmations shall be notified as soon as possible and a full refund of any payments on the un-used portion of transportation service, hotel service, domestic air flight, car rental or tours within Costa Rica will be given. Destinos de Viajes Costa Rica and participating agents are not responsible for any expenses incurred by the client or for non-refundable air tickets, equipment, medical costs, etc.

* Customer Conduct
Destinos de Viajes Costa Rica and its designated representatives reserve the right to disqualify, remove or ban any person at any time from any transportation service, hotel, domestic air flight, car rental or tour even though they purchased the trip package or itinerary. Should such person's actions or general deportment impede the operation of any services being rendered or impede the rights, welfare, safety or enjoyment of others. Refunds are usually not given under these circumstances. In such extraordinary instances when a refund is granted, it is agreed that a refund based on the actual cost of the unused land services is the limit of Destinos de Viajes Costa Rica responsibility.

* In the Case of any Customer Cancellation
Destinos de Viajes Costa Rica does not want to make money on any unfortunate cancellation but please understand that we do need to cover the cost of our Travel Advisors working with you, our confirmation department who confirms your trip and our accounting department which handles all of the monetary transactions for your trip.

When a cancellation occurs we have performed all of the steps to book services for you and a cancellation means we must follow almost the same steps to cancel things for you. Our cancellation policy is very simple; we have the same general cancellation policy as each individual vendor or services that we have booked for you. Plus a maximum cancellation administration fee of up to $100.00. This fee will never exceed the maximum charge of $100.00 and in most cases it will be less. Please see the table below to calculate it.

  • Administration fees for 1 to 3 canceled items $30.00
  • Administration fees for 4 to 6 canceled items $50.00
  • Administration fees for 7 to 9 canceled items $75.00
  • Administration fees for 10 or more canceled items $100.00

* Payment Methods
All wire transfers must be made in U.S. Dollars and made payable to Destinos de Viajes Costa Rica. We also accept Visa and MasterCard credit cards. When you receive your credit card statement any item or items you booked will be charged to Destinos de Viajes Costa Rica. In any case where the client does not have the proper funds at the moment that any payment is due, Destinos de Viajes Costa Rica will contact the client and all items of booking or reservations will be held for 48 hours prior to being canceled.
